This article from the LA Times claims that you are more likely to be satisfied when you find meaning and pleasure within your job than when you soley perceive receiving a paycheck as your only reward.
Since we no longer have to hunt for shelter and food, we have stored up that energy which shifts to other areas in our life. Still ingrained in each of us is the ancestral urge to link effort and purpose.
In several recent studies, social scientists have zeroed in on why paychecks alone can’t explain the link between work and well-being. The evidence shows that people can find meaning in seemingly insignificant jobs and that even trivial tasks make us far happier than no tasks at all.
"We become very dedicated to things it would be hard to be dedicated to if we were perfectly rational," says behavioral scientist Dan Ariely, author of "The Upside of Irrationality," published in June. "It turns out you can give people lots of meaning in lots of ways, even small ones."
People consider work of just about any kind to be better than no work at all, and it improves their mental health in most cases.
So tell us what you think. Are you satisfied just bringing a paycheck home or do you find yourself happier when you get to see the fruits of your labor?
Let us help you put that energy towards a new opportunity; register with us and we’ll work with you on finding a new job that takes you higher. www.techead.com/staffing

Sure, we’re not the sole Adobe Training Center in Virginia; but, we do happen to bethe onlyAATC and SCHEV certified Training Center in the Mid-Atlantic.
Those names may mean nothing to you, but, listen up if you’re looking to get that training budget approval or if you’re on the fence on whether to train yourself/invest money into attending a class.
To begin, it is VERY important and valuable to be an Adobe Authorized Training Center (or AATC from here on out). We get inside ties with the folks straight from Adobe. We get the down and dirty news and upcoming software releases before the product even becomes a sparkly ad. This means our instructors are diligently learning the software and preparing for your class way before it is even scheduled.
To be an AATC, ALL of our instructors must be certified in the products they are teaching. This guarantees you will always be dealing with an Adobe Certified Expert here at TECHEAD. With each new product our instructors get re-tested to be sure we always bring our A-Game! When you take a class from TECHEAD you learn the proper and most efficient way to use each application. This sure beats trying to figure it out all on your own. It’s pretty hard to say to a Youtube tutorial, “Wait, how did you do that?” or, “I’m completey lost.” When you leave our classes, you can be sure you leave knowing the best practices. Having that hands-on and question time that we offer in each class is where you really pull all the information together.
Next up on the list is SCHEV. Not less important than AATC, SCHEV means we are certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education. Outlined in the Code of Virginia: SCHEV was established "to promote the development of an educationally and economically sound, vigorous, progressive, and coordinated system of higher education in Virginia.” In short, being SCHEV certified lets us help you advance in educational excellence. In fact, not many computer software Training Centers are SCHEV certified. It means TECHEAD passes a higher standard than others. It means we bring value to our students.
You have the State of Virginia behind every class we teach.
Find the right class for you here or call the Training Coordinator to discuss your options. 804-782-6971 ext. 13
