Techead is looking for a fulltime direct hire for a client for a Network Engineer. Are you a network-focused professional with project management expertise in storage systems? With your advanced knowledge of SAN and NAS storage, as well as hands on experience with VMWare, you will implement and maintain various systems and storage infrastructures in a redundant data center environment.

Looking to constantly improve and enhance the firm’s storage strategy, you will conduct audits on software/hardware, research and make technical recommendations, give advice on technical purchases as they relate to storage and virtualization products, and suggest on feasibility of future projects.

A team player, “in the trenches” attitude is necessary, as you will interact with all levels of the organization in a support capacity within your realm of skill.

Technical capabilities include: understanding of a broad array of computer platforms including UNIX, Linux, and Windows Servers, storage technologies including SAN, NAS, tapes, RAID, and backup processes, experience deploying high availability cluster implementations, architectural experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange, and experience with zoning, LUN assignment, switch and server configuration, data replication, disk space management, capacity forecasting, and experience with industry wide hardware/software tools and utilities such as EMC, Centera, and Symmetrix. Assist in the architecture of IT systems based on Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange Server 2007, Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage Systems. Key areas of expertise include Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP Networking, Citrix, HP Blade Server Technology, VMWare, SAN and NAS Storage.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for various audiences (technical, manager, executive). Experience with Zoning, LUN assignment, switch and server configuration, data replication, disk space management, capacity forecasting, hardware acquisitions, asset management, performance management and problem solving. Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of three year’s Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems experience (Windows NT and Windows 2003/2008) and a minimum of three plus year’s experience in designing, deploying and troubleshooting AD and/or Exchange 2003/2007 in a multi-site environment. Must also have a minimum of two to three years of SAN experience with industry wide hardware, software tools and utilities such as EMC, Centera, Symmetrix; Brocade, & McData fiber switches; and Replication Tools. MCSE certification preferred.
